Rio Linda and Elverta are two Census Designated Places that cover 30 square miles in northern Sacramento County. Together, Rio Linda and Elverta have a population of approximately 23,000 residents. Being part of the leading edge of growth in the county means developments - including two currently - are constantly being proposed that will increase the population and add to both the business and residential tax base. Rio Linda and Elverta are often combined for services such as recreation, parks and water supply. Currently the two communities are looking to incorporate using the boundary of the Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District.
