West Athens is a Census Designated Place in Los Angeles County that almost 10,000 people call home. It is situated at the SW corner of the 110 and the 105. Most people driving by on the freeways have no idea they are traveling through an area that has virtually no government or that gets hardly any attention from the County Board of Supervisors and the County Sheriff. West Athens looks and feels like a fully urbanized area. The residents and businesses of West Athens deserve the same rights and privileges as the residents and businesses in the cities that surround it.
