Westmont is an unincorporated community located in Los Angeles County's Second Supervisorial District with about 34,000 people — 60 percent Latino, 37 percent Black, 26 percent White — crowded into 1.8 square miles east of Inglewood’s Sofi Stadium, north of SpaceEx in Hawthorne and LA Southwest College. Westmont is no more than 45 minutes from many major sites and attractions in greater Los Angeles, traffic notwithstanding. There are challenges Westmont residents face due to living in an unincorporated community, however they remain hopeful that strategic partnerships and policies can be created with the County Board of Supervisors for community-led decision making.
